In the Department of Plant Physiology and Biochemistry (190c) within the Institute of biology at the University of Hohenheim we are recruiting either a Postdoc (100 %) or a PhD student (65 %). The position is available from Oct 1st 2022. Applications are accepted until the position is filled.

Wir looking for a junior researcher with strong interest in basic sciences to complete our team at the beautiful campus of the University of Hohenheim Our research focuses on the biogenesis of peptide hormones in plants, andy the role of peptide hormones in the regulation of plant defense and development (see below for recent examples of our research). In addition to research, you will also contribute to teaching in plant physiology.

The successful candidate loves science, is highly motivated, creative, and a team player with good communication skills. Depending on the position, a completed MSc dgeree or PhD in biology, biochemistry, or related disciplines is required. Experience in plant molecular biology or protein biochemistry is a plus. Good command of the English languange is expected.

Im Fachgebiet 190c erforschen wir die molekularen Grundlagen pflanzlicher Entwicklungsprozesse und der Resistenz gegen Pathogene und Insekten.

Zu Ihren Aufgaben gehören die Durchführung von Forschungsarbeiten sowie die Unterstützung von Lehraufgaben des Instituts und der Labororganisation. Sie werden auch an der Herstellung und Charakterisierung von transgenen Pflanzen beteiligt sein.

Einstellungsvoraussetzung ist eine abgeschlossene Ausbildung. Wir erwarten gute Kenntnisse molekularbiologischer und biochemischer Techniken. Sicherer Umgang mit dem Computer, insbesondere mit Programmen des Microsoft Office Paketes und Englischkenntnisse werden vorausgesetzt. Sie sollten Freude an der Arbeit im Team, an der Arbeit mit Pflanzen und Interesse an wissenschaftlichen Fragestellungen mitbringen.

Die Stelle ist in der Entgeltgruppe 9 ausgewiesen und ist ab 01.10.2022 zu besetzen. Die Stelle ist als Elternzeitvertretung zunächst bis 26.6.23 befristet.

Bei gleicher Eignung werden Schwerbehinderte bevorzugt eingestellt. Die Vollzeitstelle ist grundsätzlich teilbar, soweit dienstliche Belange dem nicht entgegenstehen.
